Abbey Clancy to Host New Fashion TV Show

Abbey Clancy was the runner up in 'Britain's Next Top Model' 2006 and some of you may also remember her from the series, 'Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best' where Janice Dickinson took her under her wing to help her make it as a model in the US. The show was entertaining and gave a small insight into the fashion industry but Abbey was depicted as disinterested in hard work and more concerned about making it as a WAG (Wives And Girfriends of Footballers). When the show was over, she apparently returned to England to be with her footballer boyfriend, Peter Crouch, the Liverpool team striker. Abbey is back everybody. She will be co-hosting a new TV show called 'The Fashion Project' on ITV2 in the UK. The show will take place before a studio audience and will feature celebrity guests and a peak into their wardrobe, a makeover for a lucky audience member, fashion tips, catwalks and a live band. For more information on the very gorgeous Abbey, visit the official Abigail Clancy website.

Fashion Weekend Sydney

Fashion Weekend Sydney is making its debut tonight and it's about time we got our very own. It has been an extremely successful event in other cities around the world and I am certain that it will be just as popular here. It is a shopping extravaganza for those who wish to buy designer clothes and accessories at discounted prices. There are also fashion tips, advice and makeovers as well as hourly Catwalk Shows presenting the latest collections from designers. The event is on from 9-11 May, 2008 at the Royal Hall of Industries and if you can make it tonight, you will be given a Fashion Starts Here goody bag. Tickets cost $30 for the opening night and $20 on the weekend. To purchase tickets, visit Fashion Weekend Sydney.

'New York in Myer'

Myer is transforming five stores which include Melbourne City, Sydney City, Brisbane City, Perth City and Adelaide City into mini Manhattans for their 'New York in Myer' campaign that celebrates Australian designers. Australia’s largest department store gave New York a taste of its top designers at a cocktail party held in February of this year at the Gramercy Park Hotel in Manhattan. 'New York in Myer' will be launched with a Studio 54 themed party on May 12, 2008 and will run until May 31, 2008. Patricia Field, the Greek-American super stylist from New York will be in the Melbourne store on May 23, 2008 as part of the campaign. The Myer guest will offer Aussie women wardrobe and fashion tips. Don't miss out!

Get Carried Away with the 'Sex and the City' movie

The 'Sex and the City' ladies are back and certainly all fashionistas are just hanging for a glimpse of the frocks and accessories. Patricia Field was commissioned - once again - as the stylist and surely none will be disappointed as Carrie appears on the big screen in 81 different outfits. The "Sex and the City' movie will premiere first in London on May 12, 2008 but unfortunately for the Londoners, Mr Big (played by Chris Noth) will only walk the red carpet at the New York premiere on May 27, 2008. Has Posh sued Rock & Republic?

Victoria Beckham is allegedly suing Rock & Republic, the label that was formerly responsible for creating her first Victoria Beckham jeans. Their relationship turned sour and ended 2 years ago. The gossips stated at the time that Posh and the owner, Michael Ball, turned snotty because Posh didn't participate enough in public relations. Are they kidding or was I in a coma? Anyway, this is what is known so far. Apparently, Posh believes that her jeans were more profitable than was previously thought and so, her company 'Beckham Brand Ltd' filed a claim for 'loss of earnings' and Posh is now seeking compensation of more than £50 million (AU $105 million / US $98 million) from Rock & Republic.

Australian Fashion Week In Full Swing

Miranda Kerr, Simon Lock, Megan Gale

Australian Fashion Week officially opened on Monday with Kirrily Johnston. She presented a drapey collection and a Greco-Roman look that didn't seem to have impressed everyone. As this was the opening act, the pressure was on and although the show seemed to lack the pow on the runway, it redeemed itself with some wow in the front row.

Kate Sylvester - A model wearing the fake war medals

Day 2 stalled at the Kate Sylvester show (titled 'Royally Screwed') as the New Zealand designer was accused of disrespecting our war veterans because models walked the runway wearing fake war medals. The show was to express the passion and obsession with monarchy by using such items and others like replica tiaras, sashes and crowns. It managed to upset our returned servicemen who were honoured on the 25th April (ANZAC Day) for their brave work so, Sylvester apologised for her little blooper.

Fashion Week peaked at the Alex Perry show where his front row was star studded and reminiscent of a red carpet event. To top it off, his glamorous show had something in it for everyone. The plethora of styles would've appealed to most, with my personal favourite being the layered dress pictured.

.....

On Day 3, Flamingo Sands were talked about not only for their swimwear but for their great goodies bags. They gave their guests recycled rice and FEED bags that were dyed pink. For those of you that aren't familiar with FEED; Buying one FEED bag feeds a child in school for one year and they were created by Lauren Bush in association with the United Nations to put an end to world hunger.

..... .....

Finally, the evening was illuminated with 'Rainbow Coalition', the amazing show by Easton Pearson. It was fresh, innovative and colourful. They certainly get my vote.
