Christian Louboutin designs Macaroons Boxes
|
|
|
Christian Louboutin is designing macaroons boxes for the luxury French pattisserie, Ladurée. The collaboration is part of a limited edition Orient flavour with figs and dates that will be available from September 11, 2009. The release coincides with the Fashion Week Spring shows so, don't be surprised if they sell out fast. The boxes come in three different designs, covered with images of Louboutin shoes and purses. Each box has 6 or 10 macaroons and as the chef pâtissier, Philippe Andrieu, is responsible for the flavour, I'm sure they will taste as good as they look. For further information, visit Ladurée.

Crocs face extinction
Are Crocs unfashionable and about to go bust? This is what many reports are claiming and some, it seems, are happy to say "goodbye". Crocs have never been considered a fashion item in my eyes, but as beachwear, they are a great plastic clog. The company has marketed them extremely well but it's probably the right time to put them back where they belong, on the beach. If they focus on them as beachwear, they might stick around just like Havaianas and jelly shoes.

Versace Opens in The Dubai Mall
On this very day, 12 years ago, Gianni Versace was murdered outside his mansion, in South Beach, Miami. Since then, Donatella Versace has carried on passionately the task of her late brother with great reviews and much success. This month, Versace opened two boutiques in the United Arab Emirates. The flagship Versace boutique and the Versace jewellery store are both located in The Dubai Mall, the largest shopping centre in the world. Versace now has a total of nine stores in the Middle East.

Chambord Shine Awards 2009
The Chambord® Shine Awards were established last year with the aim to showcase emerging Australian fashion designers. From all entries received, ten designers will be selected as finalists and will be given $1000 each to create an outfit that reflects my favourite liqueur, Chambord®. The creations will then be seen on the catwalk at the Waterbar (Blue Hotel) in Woolloomooloo, on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 and a panel of judges will select their favourite one. The winning design will have the chance to appear in a two page advertorial in Marie Claire. Entries are open to designers over 18 years old until Friday, August 14, 2009. To apply, fill in the Chambord® Shine Awards Designer Entry Form. Good Luck

The winner of Australia's Next Top Model is Tahnee
The winner of Australia's Next Top Model 2009, Tahnee Atkinson, may have taken the top spot but it seems that the industry is uncertain about her future. There is a fear that her curves will prevent her from becoming a top model but let's hope that she proves everyone wrong. We keep talking about the issues of size zero and images of females that are not flattering, yet nobody wants to mention the topic in front of cameras. Except for British Vogue editor, Alexandra Shulman, who has vowed to put an end to size zero by requesting bigger samples from designers. That's gutsy!
