Valentino's Sour Farewell
Valetino Caravani presented his final Haute Couture Show (Spring/Summer 2008) in Paris last week but left us all with a bitter aftertaste. I am not referring to his haute couture show as it was exceptional but I wouldn't say the same for his remarks. He critisised the fashion industry and went on to explain how it was now ruined because there is no creativity anymore and he was bored with it. He took swings at Italian designers Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace and Prada as they are all flawed in some way, according to his words. Thankfully, we will not remember him for his comments but his beautiful gowns and especially the red dresses that he dressed his models in for the finale.
